A Peruvian fisherman (Cristian Mercado) struggles with a secret love that, if revealed, will hurt his wife. 'Undertow,' Grade A-: Javier Fuentes-Leon's powerful film looks at love, loss and faith. It'll make you nostalgic for the cheesy movies that made drive-ins so much fun. The blasts are provided by Nicolas Cage, who plays John Milton in a very obvious reference to the epic Renaissance poem 'Paradise Lost.' When Milton's daughter is killed by members of a cult and his granddaughter is scheduled to be sacrificed, Milton escapes the fiery pits to seek revenge. All that mattered were blasts, babes and bad guys. Films that filled those outdoor screens weren't concerned with plot and character development. 'Drive Angry,' Grade B: The film's a throwback to when drive-in theaters were as prominent as Starbucks are today. Other of this week's new DVD releases range from the hysterical to the historical. Episode titles are taken from the name of a song that appears on the soundtrack of that episode.- 'The PJs': Eddie Murphy co-created Fox's 1999 stop-motion series Lionsgate. True Blood follows a serialized format, with most episodes ending on a cliffhanger that leads directly into the next. Other characters include Tara Thornton ( Rutina Wesley), Sookie's tough-talking best friend, her womanizing brother Jason ( Ryan Kwanten), thousand year old vampire and Sheriff of Area 5, Eric Northman ( Alexander Skarsgård), and her shape-shifting boss Sam Merlotte ( Sam Trammell). Sookie's world is turned upside down when she falls in love with 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton ( Stephen Moyer) and for the first time must navigate the trials, tribulations and terrors of intimacy and relationships. Now they are struggling for equal rights and assimilation, while anti-vampire organizations begin to gain power. The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse ( Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress who is living in the rural town of Bon Temps, Louisiana two years after the invention of a synthetic blood called Tru Blood that has allowed vampires to 'come out of the coffin' and allow their presence to be known to mankind.
